Marianne Steinsrud – Toten, Norway
Marianne Steinsrud started improvising with a teatersportsgroup in 1993 and has kept on going at it ever since. She has had the opportunity to attend workshops with both Keith Johnstone, Augusto Boal amongst others. Marianne works fulltime as an actress and director using improv as one of her greatest tools.
Lately she has been working on the concept that is “Black Impro”. The style of this concept is slow, grounded and realistic. Not striving to be funny is liberating for the performers and it opens up to the real world. With «Black Improv» she wants to move people and show improv as theatre.
Marianne believes the children are our future; teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they posses inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children’s laughter remind us how it used to be.
