Comedy ground zero! Get ready for the celebration! You are invited to the first annual Chicago Improv Festival, March 31, 1998 through April 5, 1998 at The Annoyance Theater at 3747 N. Clark St. Co-produced by Frances Callier and Jonathan Pitts, the Chicago Improv Festival features 27 of the funniest improv ensembles from Chicago and around the nation. A Gathering of the Tribes of Comedy The Chicago Improv Festival is proud to bring together, for the first time in Chicago improvisational history The Second City, ImprovOlympic, The Annoyance Theatre, The Free Associates, Comedy Sportz, The Factory Theatre, and many others to perform under one roof united as one community. Famous Chicago Alum Come Home to Celebrate The Chicago Improv Festival is thrilled to welcome home the award-winning Upright Citizen's Brigade. UCB returns to their Chicago roots after their smash performances at the US Comedy Arts Festival, where their television pilot was picked up for production by Comedy Central. Jeff Garlin (HBO Special,"Mad About You," David Letterman, and Conan O'Brien) returns to delight audiences with his fabulous brand of humor. Slotnick Katz & Lehr (Joey Slotnick: NBC's "The Single Guy") return to perform their smooth jazz-like comedy. Laughter From Around the World The Chicago Improv Festival is excited to present the politcal satire kings, Brave New Workshop from Minneapolis performing in Chicago for the first time in their 40-year history. Other visiting enembles include the musically harmonious Impromptones from Los Angeles, the hilarious Have Nots! from South Carolina, the quick and clever Brainwaves from Portland, and the riotous Boom Chicago alumni from Amsterdam, will add to the enjoyment for Chicago audiences. |
