5 Years in Amsterdam

Like many a thrill-seeker before him, BRENDAN HUNT found himself spending a lot longer in Amsterdam than he intended, and his one-man show, one of the smash hits of this year's HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, is a hilarious, anecdotal retelling of why he stayed so long. After performing with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Hunt returned to his hometown Chicago and co-founded the acclaimed Wax Lips Theatre Company, graduated from the Second City Training Center and also performed at ComedySportz and the Improv Olympic. From there, he moved to Amsterdam to be a part of the Boom Chicago Comedy Theater. On his return to the U.S., he has since moved to Los Angeles, where he is a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade, Improv Olympic and Second City.
