NeXT IMPRO THEATRE is one of most biggest and oldest improv company in Japan. We have been performing since 1995 and now we are doing our monthly show in Shinjuku,Tokyo. We perform Keith Johnstone's "TheatreSports", "Micetro Impro" and long form scenes as well as original new style shows including improve musicals.

Our members have been doing shows overseas many times including Chicago Improv Festival (three times) and the Big Stinkin International Sketch and Improv Festival in Austin Texas which we won “The Del Close, ‘So you think you're funny?’ Award”. The critics at the festival, Michael Barnes said "The troupe was extremely deft and, like most of the audience, I hooted, howled and wept with laughter."

Most of our scenes will be performed in our limited English. Yes, it's tough for us, but the challenge gives us big energy. Enjoy our physical movement, emotional expressions, and songs as well as exotic Japanese cultures. Improv goes beyond our border.
