Switchboard is a long-form improvised surprise. The cast of 3 women moves fluidly from one scene to the next using a variety of improvised transitions. With many improvised songs the shows are often rhythmic and melodic. The cast is three fabulous women, all veterans of Chicago’s Second City resident stages: Deb Downing Grosz, Rebecca Sohn, and Jean Villepique. They’ve long enjoyed watching or improvising with each other, but never before in this configuration, doing something so organic and intrinsically theirs. They’ve had 2 directors; Dan Bakkedahl helped them find their form and Alex Fendrich helped them hone it.
